Dr. Nazli Goharian completed her BS (Dortmund University - Applied
Science), MS (1995, George Mason University - School of Information
Technology), and PhD (2001, Florida Tech - School of Engineering) all in
Computer Science.
Prior to joining IIT, Dr. Goharian was the Project Manager for Data Warehouse Conferencing at MCI Worldcom. She currently is a Clinical Associate Professor of Computer Science. Dr. Goharian has published in the domains of information retrieval, text classification, and information security. She won the College of Science and Letters Dean's Excellence Award in Teaching in 2005; and the Teacher of the Year Award of the Computer Science Department at IIT in years 2002, 2003, and 2007. She has been active in a variety of ACM and IEEE conference organization/program committees. She is a member of ACM and IEEE.
